The alert is informational; losing True Tone is not
Since iOS 13.1, an iPhone 11 whose screen has been replaced shows a message saying it cannot verify the panel is a genuine Apple display. As iFixit documented, it sits on the lock screen for four days, stays in Settings for another fifteen and then retreats to Settings, General, About.
What matters is what the alert does not do: it does not lock the phone, it does not limit calls or apps and it does not dim the display. What genuinely goes is True Tone, the automatic colour-temperature adjustment, because the calibration data travels with the original panel.
It is worth knowing before you decide: the same alert appears even when a genuine Apple screen taken from another iPhone 11 is fitted, because what the phone checks is the pairing, not the brand of the glass. That is why we would rather say it before the repair than after.

Can the alert be removed?
It clears itself off the lock screen after a few days and ends up living in Settings, General, About. There it stays as part of the phone’s history, and it does not affect how it works.
Would a genuine Apple screen avoid it?
It would still appear if the panel came from another phone, because what is checked is the pairing between that specific display and your board. It is an Apple decision about repair, not a question of glass quality.
Do I lose anything besides True Tone?
In everyday use, no: calls, camera, Face ID, auto-brightness and apps all carry on as before. If we spotted anything different on your unit during testing, we would tell you before handing it back.
