From the outside it looks like an iPhone 13. Inside it is the biggest architectural change since the iPhone X, and it shows up in exactly the repair that used to be the priciest.

Apple rebuilt the inside of the iPhone 14 around a metal midframe that carries the components. iFixit summed up the practical consequence when they took one apart: remove two screws and both the display and the rear glass become accessible, each from its own side.
That transforms one specific failure. On an iPhone 12 or 13, a broken rear panel meant a long session of heat and adhesive, or replacing the whole chassis. On an iPhone 14 the back is a part that comes off, and the difference shows in bench time.
One important caveat so nobody is disappointed: this redesign covers only the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max do not have it, and their rear panel stays bonded as on earlier generations. If you have a Pro, this advantage is not yours.
The repair this model genuinely simplified. It opens from the back, the glass is replaced and it is resealed with its water resistance respected.
Entry is from the front, as always. The phone records the swap in Settings and True Tone is lost, and we tell you that before we start.
Water resistance is a seal that ages, not a permanent promise. The sooner it arrives without being switched on or charged, the more of the board can be saved.
Settings, General, About shows the exact model name. The removable rear panel advantage belongs only to the 14 and the 14 Plus.
Apple pairs the rear glass as well, so the phone notes the swap even though only a sheet of glass was touched. It does not affect how it works.

The job is considerably shorter than on an iPhone 13, because the panel is unbolted rather than prised off. The price depends on the part and on the state of your unit, and we give it fixed after the free diagnosis.
It goes back together with fresh sealing adhesive, which is what can be done properly. No workshop, Apple included, can give you back the factory rating: that is measured in a lab on an unopened phone.
From the front yes, from the back no. The Pro and Pro Max keep their rear glass bonded to the chassis, so a back-glass repair is still the iPhone 13 job. Worth knowing before you ask for a quote.
Tell us what’s wrong and we’ll tell you what it is, what it costs and how long it takes. No obligation, and the initial diagnosis is free.
